Welcome to my latest reading project, Charles Taylor's Sources of the Self. Though this will be similar in some ways to my previous project on Leo Strauss and Joseph Cropsey's The History of Political Philosophy, this project will be presented in several different ways. While The History of Political Philosophy was presented as short weekly essays on each chapter in the book, Sources of the Self will be presented as a long, 10-20 page essay on each part of the book. My plan is to publish one essay a month under this format, hopefully on the last day of every month. Because these essays will be so long I will publish them as both a text version on this site as well as a downloadable version. Though I still hope to start this in September, it may be pushed back to October, but I will update y'all on that as I find out more. thank you in advance for following me on this project. This should take about five months to complete.
